Firm Chap Suede is durable and built to handle rugged use. With a buffed suede finish on both sides, it offers excellent grip and a uniform surface. Its firmer temper makes it ideal for structured chaps, saddlery, footwear, & utility gear where strength and stability matter more than softness. A solid choice for practical, hardworking projects. This leather has a suede finish on both sides, with no smooth grain side.
Suede is made by removing the smooth top layer of the hide, commonly known as the full grain side, during tanning. That full grain layer is used for things like upholstery or garments. What’s left is the soft underside, known as suede.
